SCMExporter


The SCMExporter is a 3D Studio MAX Exporter Plug-In which will permit you to export your objects directly to SCM file format, it'll be much easier than exporting to ASE and generating a SCM file through Atom. You can still export to ASE and then use Atom if you want, for example if you encounter a little bug in SCMExporter and you need an SCM object very quickly or if you got a ASE objects collection on the net and don't have 3D Studio MAX installed.

Well, the plug-in is a DLE file that will need to be in the (3dsmax_rootdir)\plugins directory to be used. This is the only thing you have to do, 3D Studio MAX will load it automatically. Now let's see the export stage :

After you made your object, you just have to select the SCM Exporter Plug-In into the plug-in list, typing your object name and click the Save button.

Then the plug-in will ask you what do you want to export, you have some choice, you can export only the mesh information (default and can't be remove) or you can export or not polygons and vertex normals, texture mapping coordinates and objects colors. For object colors, it's the edit-mode color which is used, the color on the right of the object name. Like this, you can see quickly what your object will look like.

Then you just have to click the OK button to export or Cancel to modify something else before exporting... look at the About button too :P
